FASTENERS BREAKING? THIS COULD BE THE ISSUE AND IT’S AN EASY FIX.

When attaching fasteners, make sure you are using the proper RPM tool and that you are not applying too much pressure.

 Here’s why.

Too much pressure or the wrong tool could be over-stressing the fastener. When installing, it’s important to know the proper technique for the type of installation and whether the fastener is drilling or tapping. When the improper tool is used or the incorrect pressure is applied, the drill point in the fastener will burn out or break. When this happens it’s often assumed the screws are malfunctioning, which could prevent the real issue of incorrect pressure or tooling from being realized.

Make some adjustments and see if the screws perform better. It could save you time and money, not only on the current job but on jobs in the future.

Also, if you missed an earlier Mr. Quick Fix Tip on fasteners, check it out. This could be another technique adjustment that will save you the cost of replacing supplies.
